Let's say griefers transfer in or the alpha decides it's time to wipe the server, your best defense is simply to log out and not play again until the situation blows over. I've played on a server with ORP at 5x base defense after you build the 'field generator.' It was pretty good actually, and the nice thing about 5x was that you could still be raided, but the cost made wiping pretty much out of the question.
